Jeff covered Zep's Night Flight during the Grace sessions and I was disappointed it wasn't on the reissue. For the fan they are worth the price of admission but I was hoping for me. The problem with the 2nd disc is that much of it appeared on the Grace EP's, there are only 5 unreleased tracks here. The song was based on an instrumental song called 'Rise Up to Be' written by Buckleys collaborator, Gary Lucas.Jeff wrote lyrics inspired by his saying goodbye to his girlfriend at the airport on a rainy day, and the vocal melody came naturally. It was the albums first single, and was also released as a video. The covers of Nina Simone's the Other Woman and the acoustic blues medley are nice but not as essential. 'Grace' is the title track from Jeff Buckleys debut album Grace (1994). Anyway, it's a GREAT track and essential for anyone that is a fan of Grace IMO.the covers of Dylan's Mama You've been on My Mind and Hank Williams' Lost Highway is just wonderful. For those unfamiliar with the track, Forget Her was slated to be the lead-off single from Grace but much to the labels chagrin Jeff wouldn't let them release it as a single and eventually it was dropped from the album altogether.

The original CD sounded great to me, I really don't think it needed anything done to it.Ībout the bonus material.the unreleased Grace song Forget Her certainly lives up to it's legendary reputation. I'd be very interested to hear how the original compares to the remastered version. I haven't been able to do a proper comparison since my girlfriend borrowed and lost my copy of the original Grace CD. Jeff's cover of Hallelujah is one of the most powerful things I've ever heard. IMO Grace is one of the all time great albums. I'm surprised the younger Buckley has received so little attention here.
